This site is an informational resource and no longer sells any products or takes any orders. It contains some affiliate links, which this policy also covers.
What information do we collect?
Apart from our optional email newsletter (below), we don’t operate any forms or accounts on this site, so we don’t directly collect any other personal information from visitors. We use Google Analytics to understand how the guides are used; see Analytics below.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, how readers find us (for example from Google, Pinterest or YouTube) and which links they click, so we know what to write and offer next. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (their names start with _ga) and gives us statistics about visits. It doesn’t give us your name or email address, and Google Analytics doesn’t store IP addresses. We keep these statistics for 14 months, we’ve turned off Google’s advertising features (such as “Google signals”), and we never sell this information. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
A small banner asks for your choice on your first visit. In Quebec, the European Union, the UK and Switzerland, no analytics cookies are set unless you click Allow; elsewhere they’re on unless you click No thanks. When cookies are refused, Google may still receive a cookie-free signal that a page was viewed, with no identifier attached. You can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy choices” link at the bottom of every page, and people who manage the site are never counted.
We also count clicks on product, signup and video links on our own server, without cookies and without storing IP addresses, to see which items readers find useful.
Do we use cookies?
Only the Google Analytics cookies described above, and only as your choice allows (“Privacy choices” at the bottom of any page). The signup form (MailerLite) and any Amazon link you click may set their own cookies. You can also block cookies in your browser settings; doing so won’t affect your ability to read this site.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any personal information to outside parties. Aggregate, non-identifying traffic data may be visible to analytics providers (such as Google) as part of how those tools work.
Third-party links
Some pages on this site may link to third-party products, services, or resources. Those sites have their own independent privacy policies, and we have no responsibility for their content or practices.
Children’s privacy
This site does not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age, in keeping with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Advertising and affiliate links
This site doesn’t currently show ads. If we add Google AdSense ads in future, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on this site are Amazon affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking through, at no additional cost to you.
Email newsletter
If you sign up for our free checklist, we collect the email address (and first name, if you give it) that you enter in the form. We use it only to send the checklist and our Goldendoodle guide emails. The list is stored with our email service provider, MailerLite, which processes it on our behalf; we do not sell or share it with anyone else. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time by replying to any of our emails. Affiliate links are never included in our emails.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page along with a new modification date below.
